How to grow Gomphrena (Globe Amaranth) Seeds
Start by choosing a sunny spot in your garden, as Gomphrena thrives in full sunlight, needing at least 6 hours of direct sun per day. It also prefers well-draining soil that is slightly acidic to neutral (pH 6.0 to 7.0). If you are starting seeds indoors, sow them about 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost date in your region. Plant the seeds just below the soil surface, about 0.5 cm deep, and lightly cover them with soil. Keep the seed trays in a warm spot at temperatures around 21-24°C. Germination should occur within 7-14 days.
If you prefer to plant seeds directly outdoors, wait until the soil has warmed up and all risk of frost has passed. Directly sow the seeds in prepared soil, spacing them about 30 cm apart to allow for proper growth. Water gently but consistently to keep the soil moist during germination, but avoid waterlogging.
