How to grow Snow Pea Sweet Horizon Seeds

Snow Pea Sweet Horizon is a popular choice for gardeners due to its high yield and delicious flavor. Sweet Horizon is a taller snow pea variety and will require a system of canes and netting for support for the long vines.

To cultivate this variety,
sow seeds directly into the soil in a shallow trench about 5cm deep and 5cm apart. Peas prefer cool weather, so aim for planting between March and June. Sow seeds in 2 or 3 batches at intervals during the growing season to ensure a continuous supply of young pods. Snow pea seeds will germinate in about 7-14 days and plants will be mature in approximately 70 days.

Ensure your soil is well-drained and rich in organic matter. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the flowering and pod development stages. For optimal growth, side dress with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season. Be vigilant for common pea pests like aphids and diseases such as powdery mildew.
