How to grow Rocket Seeds

Rocket is a fast-growing and easy-to-cultivate herb that thrives in cool weather conditions. It is a versatile ingredient that can be added to salads, sandwiches, or enjoyed on its own. To grow rocket, choose a sunny location in your garden with well-drained soil. Add compost or well-rotted manure to improve soil fertility.

Sow Rocket seeds directly into the soil, planting them about 0.5 cm deep and 5 cm apart. Cover the seeds lightly with soil and water regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Once the seedlings have a few true leaves, thin them out to a distance of 15 cm between plants. This will allow the remaining plants to grow more vigorously.

Harvest the rocket leaves as needed, starting 3-4 weeks after sowing. Cut the leaves at the base of the plant to encourage new growth. Rocket prefers cooler temperatures, so it's best to grow it in the spring or fall in warmer climates. You can also grow rocket in containers, providing that the pot is large enough and has good drainage.

Rocket is a relatively low-maintenance crop, but it can be susceptible to pests and diseases. Keep an eye out for aphids, flea beetles, and powdery mildew. If you notice any problems, take appropriate action to control the pests or diseases.
