How to grow Gomphrena from Seed

Planting:
Sow Gomphrena seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Alternatively, you can directly sow them outdoors in your garden bed when the soil temperature warms up.  Choose a location with full sun, as Gomphrena thrives in at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Seeding (Indoors or Outdoors):
As gomphrena seeds are tiny, sprinkle them lightly on the soil surface. Barely cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Light is needed for germination, which typically occurs within 7 days. Keep the soil moist but not soggy during germination.

Transplanting (Indoor Sown Seeds):
Once seedlings have developed their first set of true leaves, harden them off for a week before transplanting them outdoors. Space plants 15-30 cm apart, depending on the variety.

Care:
Once established, Gomphrena is drought tolerant. Water moderately during dry spells, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Deadheading spent flowers (removing the flower head once the bloom fades) will encourage continuous blooming throughout the summer.
